John is currently the Associate Director Cybersecurity Implementation of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). He has been with the IRS since 2002; initially as a consultant, later joining the Federal workforce in 2006. John started his career in the Navy in communications. He is a subject matter expert in the areas of high encryption technologies, satellite communication systems, computer operating systems, messaging, and security. John was instrumental modernizing the Joint Chiefs of Staff communications and computer center. After separating active duty, John taught and developed course material for Learning Tree International; designed large network and messaging solutions with Compaq Professional Services; and in early 2000 joined US Internetworking to design and develop Active Directory cloud based Microsoft Exchange solutions leveraging multiple information stores, with US Internetworking. John then managed the development of automated confirmations and statements for Ameritrade; and worked as a technical consultant until returning to Federal service at the IRS.
Mr. Strider is a devoted father, grandfather, and family man. He enjoys volunteering within his local community. John is a member of organizations devoted to resiliency and Cybersecurity, and in his spare time John enjoys golf, music, and playing fetch with his constant companions.
